My English Learning Tips

Hello! My name is Nicole and I want to share my English learning tips with you!

I created this site because I am interested in the internet and wanted to learn how to build a website. The first task was to pick a good topic and since I'm currently an English teacher, I thought, “Why not help students who are trying to learn English?”

It was a great idea and I was excited to get started. But I have to confess, it has not been very easy…

In fact, I learned that building a website takes a lot of time and effort. At first, I made quite a few mistakes. I even managed to delete my blog several times. I got very upset and frustrated. Of course, that did not make it easier. I just felt more frustrated.

Finally, I had to make a decision. If I really wanted to do this (and I really did), I was going to have to expect to have some difficulties, make mistakes and laugh at them along the way.

So that is the first of my English Learning tips:

My English Learning Tip #1: Expect to Make Mistakes
(and laugh at them)

When you are trying to learn something new, know that it may be difficult and expect to make mistakes. It really is important to get used to making mistakes, because you will make mistakes, sometimes lots and lots of them! If you wait until you speak English perfectly, you won't learn how to speak the language very quickly.

When I was young, I took ice skating lessons and the first thing they taught us was how to fall down.

That's right.

Before they taught us how to skate, they taught us how to fall down!

That's because they knew we would fall down over and over again and they wanted to give us a few tips on how to fall as safely as possible and then how to get up and start skating again.

I remember how many times I fell down, and it wasn't a crisis. Learning other things should not be a crisis either.

So, be willing to use your English, make mistakes, learn from them and then keep using your English again.

It will help you improve more quickly.

My English Learning Tip #2: Make Learning Fun

English can be difficult to learn, but please do not lose hope.

You CAN do it!

Whenever you feel frustrated, just take a deep breath and try something easy and enjoyable like listening to English music or reading about your favorite movie star or athlete on an English website.

Currently, I'm learning Turkish and French, so I know exactly how hard it is to learn a new language.

I also know the rewards are amazing.

Slowly, but surely, I am improving. A few phrases each day.

One of my favorite things to do is reading a free newspaper that has really short articles about famous people. It's fun and I learn just a few words and expressions, but it adds up when I learn a little bit each day.

In the next few months, I will add lots of entertaining videos, music and games that will help you learn English easily without studying or memorizing information

Since I will add information frequently, I suggest you sign-up for my free newsletter by entering your name and email address below.
